Of ik nou op vakantie ben, op een toernooi, tijdens een sollicitatiegesprek of gewoon tijdens een gesprek, er wordt vaak aan mij gevraagd waar ik oorspronkelijk vandaan kom. Als ik dan mijn antwoord geef word ik of verbaasd aangekeken, omdat ze dachten dat ik uit Spanje of Italië kom. Of ze hadden al zo’n vermoeden. Blijkbaar heb ik toch een Iranese look.
Er wordt mij ook gevraagd of ik er wel eens geweest ben en mijn antwoord is natuurlijk ja, ik ga er om de twee jaar heen. En 2011 was weer zo’n jaar.

I’m really really sorry that it took more time than I thought it would be. I started again with my third year at college and the competition of badminton started also. But I have made too many excuses now. Let me tell you something about the second part of my holiday. I will tell you something about Switzerland: The beautiful landscape, the scary mountains, the scary dam, the international city Genève and last but not least the lovely (or hateful) beerbike. Most of you know that I finished my second year at college. I passed all my exams again in once and I passed the subject Spanish with an excellent for all the exams! It was time to celebrate my holiday.
I told you that I wanted to go to Paris for the World Championships. Unfortunately, I found nobody that wanted to go there and I had no money to go by myself. So where did I went now?
My mom’s cousin told us a year ago that he is going to marry in the summer of 2010. He lives in Germany so my brother said that it was a good opportunity to go to Austria or Switzerland. It is not far from Germany. So we planned a vacation: a few days Germany and a week to Switzerland. (more…)

Holiday 2009: Iran

I think you all know that my roots are from Iran. But do you also know that I visit my family there? I visit them since 2001. After summer 2003 my mom told me and my brother that we are not going to visit Iran every year anymore. We are going to another country in the even years and we are going to Iran in the uneven years.
And this year was an uneven year so it was time to go visit our family again. But this year wasn’t the same as the others. I couldn’t believe that we were going on holiday without my brother. He had some problems with his conscription, but I think it will be okay as soon as possible.
